Jira Timeline drag-and-drop reparenting across Epics broken after recent UI/UX update

Can no longer drag and drop a task between epics.
Have cleared all filters, checked settings, etc the chat bot suggests.
It suggests submit a ticket, but can't do that as it doesn't recognize our URL.
Any quick change to revert back to the way the tool has worked for years?

Hi — you're not imagining it. Dragging a child from one epic to another on the Timeline has been one of the regressions people are hitting after the unified Timeline rollout for software spaces.

What still usually works today:

1. Reparent from the work item itself. Open the task → Parent field → pick the other epic. That path does not depend on Timeline drag-and-drop.
2. Clear Timeline filters. With some filters active, hierarchy controls disappear or drag targets stop accepting drops (same class of bug as JRACLOUD-98720). Try a clean Timeline with no view filters, then drag again.
3. List / backlog drag. On a company-managed board backlog (or the list view under the epic), dragging under a different epic parent still works in many sites when Timeline drag does not.
4. Opt-out while they rebuild. If your planning depends on Timeline reparenting every day, open a support ticket and ask to opt out of the new Timeline for the site. Atlassian has offered that path in the official change thread: Upcoming: Unified Timeline for Jira Software Spaces.

There isn't a space setting that flips "old Timeline drag behaviour" back on by itself. Vote/comment on JRACLOUD-98720 and the Timeline change thread with your case so product sees volume. If Parent field edits work but Timeline drag never does — even with zero filters — say so in the support ticket; that is the cleanest reproduction for them.
