Admin Digest: September 2026

Betty Sheu

👋 Hi admins,

We’ve published the September 2026 Admin Digest, your bi-monthly roundup of what's new and upcoming in Atlassian Administration.

Here is what we covered and the key takeaways:

Performance Insights (open beta): Monitor app speed, diagnose slowdowns with Rovo, and self-serve optimizations for Jira and Confluence.
Expanded Shadow IT Controls: Prevent security blind spots by reviewing new app creations in Jira Product Discovery and Loom.
Change Management Series: Join our new community series for best practices on managing production changes, plus swag giveaways.
Team ’26 Europe Sessions: Discover admin-focused sessions in TEAM EU in Amsterdam covering governance, scale, and cloud compliance.

👉 Check out the full post to dive into the details and share your feedback!

@Betty Sheu , thank you for the digest. Two questions an org admin will have on reading it, and both would make the next one sharper:

Performance Insights. The digest says open beta; the public Cloud Roadmap currently lists Performance Insights as "Coming soon, Q1 2027" for Jira and Confluence. Which is current, and if the beta is live, where does an org admin find the enrolment (is it the System Health area under Insights, or a separate opt-in)? Admins planning a performance review this quarter need to know whether to wait or to switch it on.
Shadow IT controls for Jira Product Discovery and Loom. Does the review of new app creations land inside the existing product-request flow (which today gates on plan tier), or is this a new control available on every plan? The distinction decides whether a Standard-plan admin gets to review a Loom or JPD instance created in their domain, or only sees it after the fact in the discovered products list. If there is a support page for the expanded scope, a link in the digest would save a lot of forum questions.

The change management series is welcome; the release-notes stream replacing the weekly changes page today is exactly the kind of change that needs it.

Hi @Sami Shaik Thank you for reaching out! Regarding shadow IT controls, they're currently available for Teamwork Collection Enterprise, Jira Enterprise, Jira Service Management Enterprise, Confluence Enterprise, Jira Product Discovery Enterprise, Loom Enterprise, Trello (if you have an Enterprise plan), and Bitbucket Premium. You can learn more via the support docs here. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you @Betty Sheu , that is the list admins needed, and the Enterprise-only scope explains a few threads I have seen this week. One question still open from my first comment: Performance Insights is "open beta" in the digest and "Coming soon, Q1 2027" on the public Cloud Roadmap. Which is current, and where does an org admin enrol if the beta is live?

Betty Sheu

Hi @Sami Shaik , all Cloud Enterprise sites will be automatically enrolled in the Performance Insights open beta with no action needed. Rollout is already underway, and all Enterprise sites will have access in the next few weeks. We're currently in open beta and general availability is planned for Q1 2027. The public roadmap is referring to the GA timeline. You can learn more in the digest post which also links out to the Performance Insights open beta post. Please let me know if you have additional questions!
