đź‘‹ Hey admins,
This is Betty from the Enterprise product marketing team. Welcome back to the Admin Digest, your bi-monthly roundup of what’s new and upcoming in Atlassian Administration.
This month is all about resilience and control across your cloud footprint. We’re diving into enhanced performance monitoring for business continuity, expanded shadow IT controls to help you stay ahead of rogue instances, and a preview of the top admin tracks lined up for Team ’26 Europe.
Let's dive in!
Resilient business continuity
Currently in open beta, Performance Insights gives Cloud Enterprise admins self-service tools and dashboards to monitor, diagnose, and optimize performance for Jira and Confluence. Instead of opening a support ticket, Performance Insights lets you view performance data and diagnose issues within Jira and Confluence. You can now:
- Monitor app performance and speed with dashboards that show end-user load times.
- Discover optimization opportunities with insights that reveal where performance gains await.
- Optimize performance with self-service tools to fine-tune configurations and clean up or archive data.
As part of the open beta, we’re introducing Rovo-powered diagnostics for Jira to help track performance trends, identify the causes of slowdowns, and take optimization actions. This helps you accelerate troubleshooting and removing blockers for your teams.
What’s coming next: We’re excited to share that we’re already rolling out the Performance Insights open beta to Cloud Enterprise customers. All enterprise customers will have access in the next few weeks, and no action is required to enroll.

New shadow IT controls for Jira Product Discovery Enterprise and Loom Enterprise
Shadow IT occurs when managed accounts sign up for new apps without approval, which can lead to security blind spots and unexpected costs. Shadow IT controls put you ahead of that risk by allowing you to choose whether managed accounts can create new apps or must first submit a request for admin review, helping you strengthen your security posture and avoid unmanaged apps.
Today, Shadow IT controls are already available on the Enterprise plan for Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket Premium.
What’s coming next: We’re excited to share that Shadow IT controls will soon be available for Jira Product Discovery Enterprise and Loom Enterprise. This gives admins more coverage across the tools teams use every day, so you can keep new app creation aligned with your organization’s policies and needs. We’re currently rolling out the capability, and all Jira Product Discovery Enterprise and Loom Enterprise customers will see it in Atlassian Administration in the next few weeks.
How to manage and view shadow IT controls:
- Go to
https://admin.atlassian.com
and select your organization.
- Select Apps, then Shadow IT, then Shadow IT controls.
- Select Manage settings.
- Choose the setting you want for each supported app. Select Require admin review if you want to receive app requests for newly created apps. Otherwise, choose Allow new apps.
