History tab shows "updated the Labels" but no longer displays what changed

Hello,
having an issue with the label field:

Activity → History tab on our Jira site has stopped showing the old and new values for the Labels field.

The entries themselves are still there — "User X updated the Labels, 24 September 2026 at 14:08" — but nothing is displayed underneath.

However, I am able to see the full changes under All tab.

Is there any way to see the label values in the History tab?
Is this a bug or an expected behaviour?

Hi Gianluca, since the entries are still there and the All tab shows the old and new values, the change is stored correctly and it's the History tab's display that's dropping them, so I'd treat it as a bug and not something in your configuration. The data itself is safe. I looked through Atlassian's public tracker this morning and couldn't find a ticket for Labels values missing from History yet, which usually means it's recent.

Until it's fixed, the All tab is the easiest place to read them, and if you ever need the values in bulk, the work item's changelog through the REST API (/rest/api/3/issue/KEY/changelog) still carries the from and to strings for each Labels change. I'd also raise it with Atlassian support with one work item key and the date it started, because a support case is what gets a public bug created and lets you watch it.

Does it happen on every work item, or only ones edited recently?
