Is there a way to see which users are using each Marketplace app in Jira Cloud?

Hi everyone,

We are reviewing the Marketplace apps installed on our Jira Cloud instance and would like to understand the actual usage of each app.

Is there any native Jira Cloud feature, report, or API that can provide the following information?

* Total number of Marketplace apps installed on our Jira Cloud instance
* Complete list of installed apps
* Number of users using each app
* Names/usernames of the users using each app
* Last usage/activity of each app, if available
* Whether an app is actively being used or is installed but not being used
* Ability to export this information to CSV or Excel

For example, we would like to have a report similar to:

Our main objective is to identify which apps are actively being used, who is using them, and which apps may no longer be required.

Is this information available through Jira Cloud, Atlassian Administration, REST API, audit logs, or any Atlassian-supported tool?

If user-level usage information is not available natively, is there any recommended Atlassian-supported approach or Marketplace app that can provide this information?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Krishna, Arek is right that there's no per-user app usage report in Cloud. Here's how I'd get as close as possible to your table with what Cloud does give you:

* Installed apps: Settings → Apps → Manage apps (filter "User-installed"), plus Atlassian Administration → Apps → Sites → Connected apps for the site-wide view. Billing in Administration lists the paid subscriptions, which covers your "Installed" column.
* Is it being used: Settings → Work items → Custom fields shows which app provides each field, and where your site shows it, when a value was last updated. An app whose fields haven't changed in months is a strong candidate. Also check workflows for the app's post functions/validators and dashboards for its gadgets. If nothing references it, nothing depends on it.
* Install/remove history: the Jira audit log (Settings → System → Audit log) and the organization audit log in Atlassian Administration are where install, update and uninstall activity shows up. Useful for "who added this and when."
* Who uses it: only the app itself can tell you, because Jira doesn't log UI views per app. Many apps have their own admin/usage page, and vendors can often tell you if you ask.

Two practical notes for the clean-up itself:

* Cloud Marketplace apps are priced on your whole Jira user tier, not on how many people use them. So a user list won't reduce cost; the real decision is keep vs remove.
* For apps you suspect are unused, announce a date and disable rather than uninstall for a few weeks. Disabling keeps the app's data and config (check with billing whether a disabled app stays on the subscription until it's uninstalled). If nobody complains, uninstall; if someone does, you've found your user list.

Jira Cloud has no native report for user-level Marketplace app usage. Because apps interact in completely different ways, via custom fields, gadgets, or background tasks so there's no unified usage log (the "App Usage" tool is Data Center only). To gather this data, you'll need to check each app's built-in analytics, audit app-created Jira objects (like custom fields or workflow steps), or contact the vendors directly.
