Moving Cards Automatically to a Certain Position

Question

Is there any way to create an automation that moves a card to a certain position when it's due, then back down to its sequential spot when the due date resets? I'm trying to make a month tracker which highlights how many months each member of my team has been with us. All cards automatically reset their due date to next month after their current date has passed, however I want it to be able to move to a certain position and back to the same one when the due date is complete.

This is partially possible, but native Trello Automation cannot automatically restore a card's exact manual position. A reliable workaround is to move the card to a "Due Now" list when due, and then return it to your main tracker list and trigger a "sort list by due date" action once the date resets. This structures the sequence using dates rather than memory.

With API you should be able to Log specific position.

Does the "original spot" follow a specific logic? (e.g., sorted by join date or alphabetically by name?)

Are you on Trello Free or a paid plan? (Free plans have monthly command run limits).
