Edit issue summary if exisitng issue (work item) has same field value

Need to edit the summary of an issue (work item) using a post function to add "Duplicate" if there is an existing issue (work item) with "Field A = qwerty"

He yes that sounds about right. Im still using OG terminology as we havent upgraded yet.

Will try and help best I can but hoping you can clarify some things

* I understand you want to edit the "Summary" of a work item
* I understand you want that edit to add "Duplicate"

When you say, "if there is an existing issue with "Field A = qwerty". Do you mean if there is a work item in your project with a custom field called "Field A" and you refer to the value of as qwerty or are you meaning if any work item has the summary "Field A = qwerty"?

It may be helpful for me to understand what issue you are trying to resolve as there may be other solutions that get you what you need
