How do I make a workspace under the right organization?

I made a workspace with a slug via the App section and then realized that in the top left corner it says the wrong organization name above the navigation. So I'd like to move the workspace to the right company. I then discovered that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to even change or select an organization in this new admin screen. I don't have just one organization I have many. And the one I'm logged in as (apparently) is like the least relevant to me personally, so now I have an app made under the wrong company.

I used to use BitBucket just fine but the organizational change Atlassian did has totally lost me. Please help. I just want my workspace under the right company, with my slug intact, nice and clean.

Currently, it is not possible to directly move or "unlink" a Bitbucket workspace from one Atlassian organization to another. This is a known limitation (tracked under

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-23320). 

To get your workspace under the right company while keeping your original slug, you will need to perform a manual migration. Here is the step-by-step process to do this cleanly:

1. Free up your original slug

Since two workspaces cannot share the same slug, you must rename the "wrong" one first.

1. Log in to Bitbucket and go to the workspace you want to move.
2. Go to Workspace settings > Workspace details.
3. Change the Workspace ID (the slug) to something else (e.g., original-slug-OLD).
4. Click Save. Your original slug is now available to be used again.

2. Create the new workspace in the correct organization

To ensure the workspace is created under the right company:

1. Go to https://admin.atlassian.com. 
2. Select the correct organization from the list.
3. Navigate to Apps > Atlassian apps.
4. Add app and select Bitbucket
5. When creating the workspace, use your original slug.

3. Transfer your repositories

Now you can move your work from the old workspace to the new one:

1. Open a repository in the old workspace.
2. Go to Repository settings > Repository details.
3. Click Transfer repository (usually found in the top right menu).
4. Enter the Workspace ID of your new workspace.
5. Accept the transfer request in the new workspace.

Important things to keep in mind:

• Permissions: User permissions and groups do not transfer automatically. You will need to re-add your team members to the new workspace via the Atlassian Administration screen.
• Pipelines & Variables: While repository variables usually transfer, Workspace-level variables and Deployment environments must be recreated manually in the new workspace.
• Local Git Remotes: Even if the slug is the same, the underlying workspace ID might have changed. Your team may need to update their local git remotes if they encounter any connection issues:
