We’re excited to announce that swimlanes will soon be rolled out to the Board view in Business spaces. On top of this we’ve made some updates to how you group so that it’s easier for all teams to organise and track work in Jira boards.
Now your workflow stays visible even when you group by different fields.
Lastly, you’ll notice a refreshed design - this is to ensure we can deliver a simpler and coherent grouping experience across Jira.

Note: this will apply to any team or company-managed business space
1. Swimlane grouping

Columns are fixed to status

Applying groups organises work into swimlanes

Grouping can be cleared to revert the board back to a simple status-only view
2. More group by options
On top of the fields that already exist (Assignee, Priority, and Category) you will soon be able to group by:
Drag and drop everywhere

↔️ Between columns to transition status

↕️ Between swimlanes to change groups

🔀 Within a lane to re-order work
