Atlassian modifications to bundled tomcat

I've heard that Atlassian makes small customizations to the Tomcat they bundle with their Datacenter releases.

Does anyone have any official sources or documentation for this?

Hi, how does this explain that Atlassian makes changes to the default Tomcat, and what these changes are? In my understanding its just the release notes and some technical overview of each release. I'm looking for more generic info that's not version-specific.
