How can I get the numerical weights of select field or custom expression value in automation

Question

I have some select fields (with weights) and a custom expression in my board, and I want to use them in automation in order to get a new value in a numerical custom field.

1) Can I get the numerical value from a custom expression in automation? currently getting an empty value what I call it.

2) I have select field with weights, i want to get the weights value from the field, how can I do it without mapping?

Just following up to check if any of the suggestions answered your question.  If so, please consider marking them as "answered".  That will help others with a similar need find solutions faster.  If not, please let the community know what help you need with the rule changes.

And specifically to your question: if you are using custom / calculated expressions in JPD, those are calculated just-in-time for display in the UX and do not save in the fields.  This is why they are not accessible withing automation rules.  The only workaround for that is to re-create the calculation in the rule using the source fields / smart values.

1. what type of project is this (e.g., company-managed, team-managed, etc.),

2. images that show your complete rule.

3. images showing the details of any relevant actions/conditions/branches.

4. images showing the Audit Log details for the rule execution.

5. Explain where the issue is.

These questions are not for not willing to help, but to have community members understand on how automation works.

The final value is a number but the type is custom expression so calling using smart values return None, also in the log.
