I have several pages in my confluence pages and my Jira projects. I am trying to add an automation that creates a new Task for anything that got updated and commented on in Confluence.
Hi @Wesam Abo Aqel , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
I would always encourage for automations like this to use one of the template rules to start from, like this one
This is a rule in Confluence, which, for
Trigger: Whenever you create a task in a Confluence page
Condition: You can specify for this to only work in the case of certain users performing the trigger aciton
Action: Automation will create a work item in Jira
My advice to you would be to try something like this first, and see if it meets your needs.
If you create, for example, a Jira work item every time a page in any Confluence space is edited, you are going to end up with a lot of work items, many more than I think you would need / usefully be able to work on and complete.
What do you think? Could this approach work for you?
Best wishes
