In google sheets there are many problems like duplicate testcase and the management is also hectic. Could you suggest some ways and requirements to do this. Like we can use db or something like that. if there is a tool which exists please me mention that also. I am thinking of making a framework also.
Hi @shashank_pandey
When it comes to Jira plugins that can support your testing process, you can try the Deviniti app - Requirements & Test Management for Jira
This application allows you to:

Hi, @shashank_pandey! 👋
If you're facing issues with Google Sheets for test management, you can use Atlassian tools to build a better system without plugins:
Use Jira to manage test cases as issues (create a "Test Case" issue type, create necessary custom fields for detailed tracking).
Track execution using custom workflows, statuses, and labels (f.e, Passed, Failed, Skipped).
Use Confluence to document test plans and link them to Jira test cases.
Create dashboards and filters in Jira to avoid duplicates and track coverage.
Store and version test scripts or automation code in Bitbucket.
Link Bitbucket commits to Jira issues for traceability (tests linked to features or bugs).
No plugins needed - just customize Jira projects, fields, and boards.
Hope this helps! ✨
If you are looking for an additional tool for Jira that will suit your test management needs and don't mind getting a solution from the Atlassian Marketplace, then I suggest our app, developed in-house by SolDevelo, called 'QAlity Plus – Test Management for Jira'.
QAlity Plus streamlines the process of creating and managing test cases. You can write and execute test cases directly from the issue view, providing quick and convenient access to your tests.
Each test step can include associated test data, an expected result, and relevant attachments.
The Test Case Repository enables you to organize, filter, and create test cases, storing them in custom-named folders for better structure and accessibility.
Finally, the test cases can be both exported and imported into your Jira instance, meaning that with some additional preparation work, you can import the data from your existing spreadsheet files into the app, making the data transfer from and into QAlity Plus easier!
If you are interested in this solution, we kindly invite you to check it out!
Best regards,Tomasz
Thanks @Tomasz Korusiewicz_SolDevelo , will try this and inform you if i face any issue
Thanks @Brita Moorus , i will check it out
@Weronika Hałdaś_Deviniti_ Thanks for the information
Yes, I agree that duplication is the biggest problem of excel and google sheets, which can be avoided by using some smarter tools like Testrail, Tuskr, and Xray with many other tools. Well, if you want to make test management tools, then first of all you must understand what people actually want (Like you are frustrated from duplication of data) and what are the challenges might be arises.
Like here is the list of tools, where all the features are listed with the tools itself along with what they do, from here you can have an ideas that you can apply during tool development.
I hope it will help you.
Thanks
Hi @shashank_pandey, before building your own, plain Jira can fix the duplicate problem: 1. Create a "Test Case" work type in a company-managed project, with the steps and expected result in the description. 2. Import your sheet with the built-in CSV importer (System > External system import > CSV), one row per test case, so you start from one copy instead of many. 3. Before creating a new case, search with JQL like `issuetype = "Test Case" AND summary ~ "login"` to catch duplicates. 4. Track results with workflow statuses (Passed, Failed, Blocked) and link failures to bugs. The limit is that a status only holds the latest result, so you lose run history across releases. That's where a test management app helps. I make Proofline: test cases with steps, folders and reusable steps, import from CSV or Excel, cycles so each release keeps its own results, coverage for any JQL, and JUnit, Playwright and Cypress import if you automate later.
