How to automatically set a Date Custom Field to the date an Issue was marked Closed??

I have a Custom field called Date Closed. I'd like to set that automatically when someone sets a issue to Closed. Is this possible?

this is probably wayyy overdue...but in case you still need this:

On your workflow, go to Transition for Close.  In the post function tab, you can either create a script (via script runner plugin) or you can set the customfield to a particular value.
