Upgrading jira Service Desk agent license

Hello,

we´d like to upgrade our current 25 agent Service Desk agent (current expiration Jul 2018).

If we upgrade to a 50 agents license and 12 months maintenance is this maintenance only for the new +25 license?

And we have like two maintenances for the current 25 and the new 25 liceses?

Or do we need to upgrade to a 24 month maintenance so the both licenses are similar?
