Our organization uses bitbucket cloud for git hosting. we have very many projects and users.
Out of the blue, none of us can create and push any branch which start with "bugfix/", e.g. "bugfix/CRM-xxx_some_issue".
We can create and push feature/xxx etc.
We have many branches which start with bugfix/ but cant create and push any new ones.
The error is:
$ git push origin bugfix/CRM-xxx_some_fix
remote: error: cannot lock ref 'refs/heads/bugfix/CRM-xxx_some_fix': 'refs/heads/bugfix' exists, cannot crate 'refs/heads/bugfix/CRM-xxx_some_fix'
All of use devs get this error no matter what comes after bugfix/
Note, we cant contact support to raise a support ticket, as our 25,000 employee company cant login to the alassian support portal with our MS logins what we use to login to bit bucket, jira or confluence, we get this error:
Sorry, but we’re having trouble with signing you in.
AADSTS7000112: Application '46cdaa3f-9339-4b60-bf0xxx'(Atlassian) is disabled.
As we cant raise support tickets, we can only hope to solve this via community forum.
Any suggestions?
The error could be due to the fact that someone created a branch called "bugfix" some time ago. Presumably we cant just delete this branch, as it might have been merged.
