Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

To add an issue type scheme to your project, please follow these steps:

Go to Project settings of your project.
Click on Issue types.
Click Actions and select Use a different scheme.
Choose the scheme you want to add.

Looks like it's for company-managed projects, I do not see this option on my team-managed project.

@Shreeja J - There is no Issue Type Scheme for Team-managed projects. You just add the Issue Types directly to the project.

To add an Issue Type Scheme to a Jira project:

Go to Settings (⚙️) → Issues.
Click "Issue Type Schemes" in the sidebar.
Find/Create a Scheme.
Assign it by clicking Actions → Associate with project, then pick your project.

Done! Your project will now use the chosen issue types.

To add a schema to a Jira project:

Go to Project Settings.
Select the type of schema (Workflow).
Add or change the schema by choosing the Add Existing schema.
Choose the schema you created above.
