Showing sprint tickets in a backlog of another board

Dear,

For our project we are working with two different boards.

The main board is called Monsoon Operations.

The other one is called OS Ops.

All tickets from the a specific epic  are shown in the OS Ops Board and handled by a separate team.

The OPs Team has worked with a Kanban Board in the past and therefore all their tickets were shown in the backlog of the main board.

Now the OPs Team want to work in sprint mode as well. Therefore I created a board with sprint view today.

If they are now working with sprints as well their tickets are getting mixed up with the tickets of the other team what is not intended. If they use a different naming for their sprints then we see an additional sprint in our  Monsoon Operations Board.

We are looking for a way to see their tickets just as backlog items in the Monsoon Operations Board although they are working with sprints in their board. Is this possible? Or do you have another idea how we can keep it separated?

If I understand you correctly your aim is to see OPs Team activity in the backlog of the Monsoon Operations Board. This is not possible as the items on the OPs Team board will also be progressing through the workflow and it is the status that is mapped to the column not the sprint.

However, a possible solution is to add a custom field "named team" and then to allocate each item to a team as it is allocated. Once you have the populated custom field you can then use a quickfilter to distinguish between work allocated to each team. You may like to use JQL similar to this

Team is Empty OR team = "Ops"

so that you can see items not allocated to any team and those allocated to the OPs team together. Remember that quickfilters have an implied AND where two are set together so it would not be possible to have a quickfilter for unallocated and a second for the OPs team and expect them work as an OR criteria.

Using the above approach it is also possible to adjust the board filter to remove the items from each board that are allocated to the other team.
