trouble with ping bitbucket.org, git pull, git push

Question

This just started a couple days ago. My ubuntu computer can not reliably interact with bitbucket.  My Mac is on the same lan and works fine.

ping, git pull and git push will hang.

Doing ping from ubuntu appears to use ipv6.  If I force ipv4, ping prints then hangs:

"PING (104.192.142.24) 56(84) bytes of data"

My Mac uses a different IP 103.224.182.246, and works fine.  Mac can push and pull.

I suspect the DNS, but ubuntu seems to ignore my attempts to change the DNS.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you, that fixed the problem.  I wish I understood the problem better.  Odd that the IPV6 route does not work.
