Seeking consultation on adding popup message without workflow change

We are currently exploring the possibility of adding a popup message with field validation in JIRA to remind users filling up certain field when changing the issue status. We would like to achieve this without changing existing workflow templates or affecting other projects.

We have tried using script runner to achieve the behavior. However, without workflow change, it seems not working as expected.

We would greatly appreciate a consultation session to gather insights and determine if it is feasible to implement this popup message and field validation without touching workflow.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!

If you are using a shared workflow, I would suggest you make a copy of it and use a separate workflow for your project because without changing the workflow, I don't think adding a validator is feasible.
