Automation Rule Not Triggering on Synced Attachments

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with my JIRA automation setup and would appreciate any insights or solutions you might have.

Here's the situation:

1. I have two automation rules set up:
    The first rule syncs attachments from Issue A to Issue B.
    The second rule triggers a script whenever an attachment is added or changed in Issue B.
2. When I upload an attachment to Issue A, it successfully syncs to Issue B. However, the second automation rule does not trigger on Issue B. Additionally, the sync action does not appear in the history of Issue B, and there is no log entry in the automation audit log for the sync action.
3. If I manually upload an attachment directly to Issue B, the second automation rule triggers as expected and everything works fine.

Hi @kyle -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

By default, the actions of one rule cannot trigger another.  This prevents errors and runaway looping problems.

When you intentionally want the actions of one rule (i.e., Rule 1) to trigger another (i.e., Rule 2), please look in the details at the top of Rule 2 and enable the option for "Allow Rule Trigger".  Then monitor the rule's audit log for a while to confirm there are no unintended consequences.
