Updates in automation on when to allow use of criteria?

Hello,

 

When we go to update an automation that was created some time ago it does not allow for the same configuration as before.

We are unable to add an If: conditional statement to the branch, however in the past I’ve clearly added If statements before (as seen in the attached screenshot below).

Any advise would be welcome.
