how can i change the roadmap timeline view in product discovery template to weeks beside months and quarter ?
Hi @Haitham El Khatib and welcome to the Community!
You can't. Only monthly and quarterly views are supported in the JPD timeline. The tool was built with capturing your big and bold ideas in mind. When you think about weekly follow up of what's happening with your ideas, it makes more sense to look at the delivery timelines rather than your product ideas. In Jira software, where the actual work is happening, you do have this weekly view available.
Hope this helps!
Hi @Haitham El Khatib and welcome to the community,
Per documentation https://support.atlassian.com/jira-product-discovery/docs/create-a-timeline-view/ you can't. It's only in months and quarters
The timeline view allows you to create monthly and quarterly roadmaps. Time is defined in ideas by the date field, which you can create like any other field
thank you alex , got it
I realized it once I submitted the question thank you, Walter!
I disagree with this approach. For solo PMs and small teams, monthly granularity doesn't match how we actually work.
This forces duplicate work. We've already planned weekly timelines in Product Discovery pages. Now we have to either lose that detail or recreate everything in a separate board, creating two sources of truth that will inevitably fall out of sync.
The tool should support our workflow. Weekly timeframes are standard in most roadmapping tools. This flexibility lets PMs maintain a single, accurate, detailed roadmap rather than choosing between granularity and centralization.
Please add weekly timeframe support so we can work efficiently without maintaining multiple disconnected plans.
