How to configure optional field values based on certain conditions.

Hi,

I need help on this issue. The user has configured 3 optional fields in JIRA as A, B and C and has 5 same values under each.

The requirement is If the user selects a specific value from A & B (dropdown) , the Optional field C should automatically pick the (conditioned) value from it's drop down. Is this possible and if yes, what are the steps to be followed ?

I did try the automation function in JIRA admin under projects but not sure where I am going wrong on setting these rules. If you can, please help.

Hi @Raj ,

I would suggest using the below format when creating an automation that updates a Custom field:

I've used "Edit Issue" as the only trigger condition here, but if your use case demands the use of the other conditions then that might work for you too.

Outline of the Automation:

• Trigger: If Field A or B are updated
• IF/ELSE loop: Field A and Field B match the needed values
  • Then: Update field C
