Automation if mentioned user is not in group

Question

Hello community,

I want to create an automation that checks the mentioned users in a comment to see if they are part of a specific group.

Do you have any ideas on whether this is possible, and if so, how the condition for the check should look?

Just following up to learn if you solved this question yet.

If not...a mentioned user cannot be directly checked for group membership, but a couple of work-arounds are:

* Temporarily assign the user to the issue, use the User Condition with "user is in group" and specify the group, and then re-assign the issue back
* Use a Send Web Request to call the REST API function to get all users in the group, and then check if your mentioned user is present.

JQL does not support to search the mentioned user with type = group. I thinks you maybe try hard code in JQL condition by list down one by one user in group you want, like below:

comment !~ userID-1 and comment !~ userID-2 and comment !~ ....
