How can we have we make subtask that can be pulled across the kanban board without the main task?

Question

We sent up our Jira to show all marketing activity as one project. 
We use epics for our large bucket areas of focus. 
We use standards task issues to replay "things that need to be done" 
Lastly, we use sub-tasks to break the task down if there are multiple participants that need to be involved in solving the issue.

This works for us as our director wants to see everything in a list view. However,, we can not being sub task to different swim lanes on the Kanban board to show when a subtask is complete or ready for review.

Can we edit the settings of the subtask to make them movable without moving the overall task?

It's Mary from Planyway for Jira.

While Jira Work Management doesn't support statuses for subtasks, I was thinking about some workarounds I can suggest. Do you guys schedule your activities? If you do, then you may track statuses with the timeline in Planyway as we allow you to visualize subtasks as cards. So, let's say once the card is ready for review, you set date and assign it to a responsible team member. So, visually it'll super comprehensive. Then, once it's done, you can mark it complete, and the card will get crossed right on the timeline. What do you think?

@Alexa McCoy, you would need to have Jira Software in your instance to use Epics. If you have that installed, you would need to add Epics to the project Jira Work management, but once you it is in there, it should work.

Why do you want to stick with work management? Is there one of the views that you like?

We want to stick to Jira work management.
How can we reorganize our work to see everything in list view and also use the work management board.

Can we convert to using epics -> stories -> tasks? (We do not work in sprints)
