MIgration to datacenter

Dear all,

We have an important customer which is actually using Server version as an internal instance not publicly accessible to internet but accessible through internal private network for employee.

There is a need now to convert this Server version to a DataCenter version with multiple node.

A side of the technical implementation of the infrastructure, I am looking foe the official Atlassian docuement which describe the steps to migrate.

IMPORTANT :

I have seen some docs where it is mentionned that it is simply required to paste a DataCenter licence inot Server instance.

But in my mind this is not correct because the binarries remains for Server and not data center

Thanks for clarification on where is this official page and best practice for migration

You can just take the license and paste it in. The way that it works is the binaries are all the same, but the license activates certain DC features.

That being said, if you are going to be setting up a clustered environment, there are some additional steps.

 

Here is some documentation to get you started. The biggest change between DC and server is the shared home directory and the load balancer to manage traffic between the nodes.
