How can I delete all Automations in Jira?

Question

If a power user created a dozen automation rules with a massive defect, how would I delete them all.  I don't want to disable them, I want to delete all of the references.  Can I do it using ScriptRunner or do I have to go through the database?

Hi @Damien Davis

If you are an Admin user, I suggest that you disable all the automation rules instead of deleting them.

It will not be safe to make any deletion via the database as this could cause other complications.

Are you asking about automation for Jira rules?

If so, and there really are only a dozen of them, I recommend:

* having the site admin go to global administration and first disabling the rules (not deleting them)
* investigate what problems the rules were solving (i.e., their purpose) before removing them
* ask the admin to export the rules also before any deletion decision
