Is it a limitation in JQL where i want to search across issue types or lables and status?

I am trying to pull in a search for Issues type of Story, or Label, with the status of Done.

 

example i am trying to use

issuetype in (Story) OR labels in (Assurance) AND status in (Done)

 

as an add to this can multiples be used in this scenario also 

 

like more than one issuetype, or more than on label. or is this too extreme analytics for Jira queries?

eg

issuetype in (TechDebt, "TechDebt Subtask") OR labels in (tech-debt, tech-debt-to-address, tech-debt-to-withdraw, tech-debt-triage, tech-improvements, tech_debt, techdebt, TECHDEBT, TechDebt) AND status in ("In Progress", "BA in Progress", "Design In progress")

No, that JQL should be fine. I think the only thing you want to watch out for is how you structure your JQL.

In the example you shared above:

"issuetype in (TechDebt, "TechDebt Subtask") OR labels in (tech-debt, tech-debt-to-address, tech-debt-to-withdraw, tech-debt-triage, tech-improvements, tech_debt, techdebt, TECHDEBT, TechDebt) AND status in ("In Progress", "BA in Progress", "Design In progress")"

 

The issue which will be returned are: 

 

1. Any issue type in TechDebt, TechDebt Subtask
2. Any issue with one of the labels tech-debt, tech-debt-to-address, tech-debt-to-withdraw, tech-debt-triage, tech-improvements, tech_debt, techdebt, TECHDEBT, TechDebt that is also in the status of "In Progress", "BA in Progress", "Design In progress".

The status condition you have is not being applied to the very first portion of your JQL, so if you want it to, you need to change your JQL like so:

(issuetype in (TechDebt, "TechDebt Subtask") OR labels in (tech-debt, tech-debt-to-address, tech-debt-to-withdraw, tech-debt-triage, tech-improvements, tech_debt, techdebt, TECHDEBT, TechDebt)) AND status in ("In Progress", "BA in Progress", "Design In progress")
