Setting up a bitbucket pipeline by committing and pushing bitbucket-pipelines.yml on a feature branc

I have pushed bitbucket-pipelines.yml on a feature branch of a bitbucket repo.

The contents on the yml file seems syntactly correct.

Still, I am not able to find the pipelines on the bitbucket UI.

On the pipeline section, I am still getting a message to setup a pipeline. 

My understanding was that if we push a valid bitbucket-pipelines.yml on the root path of any repo, pipelines would start showing up. In my case, I just want to run a custom pipeline step on the feature branch only for now.

By the way, pipelines are enabled.

What i am missing here?

Hello @Shivang Kumar and welcome to the Community! 

For Bitbucket to identify that pipelines were enabled and that a valid yml file was already pushed, you will need to add the YML file to the main branch of your repository (usually master branch).

So if you haven't already, try pushing the YML file to the main branch as well, and the pipelines page should correctly identify it.

Once that is done, you can trigger the custom pipeline from your feature branch by navigating to Pipelines page and clicking on the  Run Pipelines button in the top right corner.
