Fields in tabs

Question

Hi everyone,

I created a company-managed project and created a ticket with tabs.

Adding the fields in the tabs, I noticed that it doesn't let me add the same field in different tabs... do you notice? or did I miss some screen configuration?

Even if you can add more custom fields, I don't like it much as a solution, you can quickly grow the number without a real need, and it's not really a best practice.

Maybe you can use Subtasks to do the comparison, each subtask will be an item to compare, it's also relatively easy to show them with a filter exposing the CFs you need.

Something like this:

Task (Comparison A)
-Subtask (Item A) with all the CFs
-Subtask (Item B)  with all the CFs
-Subtask (Item C) with all the CFs

Thanks for you answer, unfortunately i thought it was so.

I'd like to use the tabs to compare different solution so i'd need the same fields to ad the information...i will think about another solution.

I also found in the community a suggestion about adding  as many custom fields as the tabs in which you need them...but i think in this way i only fill the database with probably useless custom fields

Ciao @Monica Panozzo (I'm guessing you are Italian),

If I get it right you created a Screen with multiple Tabs and you are trying to add the same Field in more than one Tab.

If this is the case, that's not possible in Jira, no matter the Tab the Screen is the same and you can add only one instance of the same field.

Out of curiosity, which is your use case to do that?
