504 time out error while generating XML backup file

I am trying to generate an XML backup file of my Jira instance, but after giving the file a name and clicking on backup, it will be there for 30–40 seconds, but after that, it shows a 504 timeout error. If I again click on backup, it shows we already have a file by this name. Can anyone clarify to me whether my file will be backed up in the background? How can I know that? Also, is there a way to generate an XML backup file from the CLI?

We're experiencing a similar issue here. After about 30 seconds, the process abruptly stops with an error message stating: '

An exception occurred backing up: com.atlassian.jira.transaction.TransactionRuntimeException: org.ofbiz.core.entity.GenericTransactionException: Error occurred while committing transaction. (FATAL: terminating connection due to idle-in-transaction timeout).'
