There is an option in gitlab where we can create release events with description and source code displayed as assets. Is there any option like that in bitbucket ?
In Bitbucket, the closest thing is the concept of deployments. Also note that in Jira, versions (releases) has its own concept. These are not the same, but in terms of functionality, there is some overlapping.
If I were you, I'd check out both to see which one is more applicable to your use case.
