Copy the field values from text field to numeric field type

Hi Team,

 We have requirement to change the field type from a single-line text field to a number field. I created a new field with the same name and set it to numeric, then tried using a built-in script (copy field values, scriptrunner) to transfer the values from the old field to the new one. Unfortunately, the script did not work, and I could not copy the values from the text field to the numeric field. Is there any alternative method to achieve this?

Hi @jira_admin_cu

After going through your description, I suggest temporarily renaming the Number Field and transferring the value from the old field to the new field and using the built-in script once again.

If the transfer is successful, once you have transferred the values to the Number Field, either remove or rename the old field and the Number Field.
