Can we trigger an automation based on specific date field value?

Question

Lets say I have custom field name Contract Day a date picker field. I want my automation trigger on the date mentioned on the Contract Day such that my status changes to from To do to WIP.

Let's say Contract date field value has - 15/08/2023 
and I want such that the automation should be triggered on 15/08/2023, such that will perform a transition from To do to WIP.

Hi @Sambhav Swain , are you using automation for Jira? Assuming so, the way you could accomplish this would be to set up a daily automation rule and then you would compare the date field of interest with current date and take the actions that you desire if they are equal. So, in short, you can't trigger on a specific date unknown but you can't accomplish your goal stated above.
