Bitbucket Pipeline with Merge Checks

I have a bitbucket pipeline configured to run on pull request creation. My pipeline succeeds when the pull requests are created but my merge check condition for "1+ build passed" does not update when the pipeline succeeds, and therefore I cannot merge. What am I missing in my pipeline configuration to update this merge check upon successful build?

I noticed you have also opened an internal ticket with our support team to report this issue, and one of our support engineers is already working with you on that case.

In order to avoid any confusion that may arise from discussing the same issue in multiple places, I would suggest focusing the discussion on the internal ticket. 

Once that ticket is resolved, if you feel comfortable, feel free to share the solution here so other users from the community that may come across the same scenario can try using the same steps.
