Turn Off User Notifications per project

I am a Product Strategist that is currently assigned to multiple projects within Jira.
I no longer want to receive email notifications from two of the projects but still need to receive them for the main project I focus most of my time on.

I only see that can change my user notifications generally or as a Jira Admin, change them for ALL users on a project, not just my user.

Hi Daniel,

Under what circumstances are you receiving those emails on the projects that you don't want to receive them for? There's a good chance that you are in a project role on the project and you can be removed from that role within the project.

Or you are in a group that is being used for the Project Role or used directly for the Notification Scheme. If you can figure out which is the case, then you can make adjustments from there.

If you are referring to the default system notifications, then you can configure each project's notification scheme via Project settings >> Notifications

As long as you are not called out by the event setup, then you will not receive the default notifications. One other notes, you need to ensure that you are not listed as requested participants in the project issues.

In the configuration scheme, you can customize who should receive the system notification based on issue events. NOTE - If the same scheme is shared by multiple projects, then you will need to copy the existing scheme and apply it to the project in question, so your customization will not impact other projects.

I am an admin on the projects I no longer want to receive email notifications. I am receiving emails for tickets updates.

Joseph, thank you for the response.

I work for a digital transformation consulting company. This means that I could be assigned to multiple projects for %'s of my time thus could be associated with multiple projects within Jira.

As I transition the >% of my time to a newer project, I no longer need to receive email notifications from the projects that I'm now more of just a liaison for.

I don't want to change the notification rules for the team on my previous projects as they still need those rules in place. I also don't want to change my personal user notifications as I still need to receive email notifications for the newer project that has my focused time.

I'nm not seeing a way to adjust user notifications per project within Jira. That's the ask

Do you still need to be an Admin on those projects? If not, drop yourself from that role.

Thanks for the update. Out of the box (unless there are customization done to the projects), project administrator role members will not receive system notifications on issue events by default.

Typically - Issue Event Notification goes to Current Assignee, Reporter, and Watchers.

You may want to work with those two specific project's admin team to determine if there were any customization setup where you are still getting system notifications triggered by issue events.

John, technically no. but once I'm no longer an admin, I can't give myself back that role. Only reason I've maintained it, is to be able to reference the workflows and ticket structures, as I'm not an admin on my current project.

Other feedback I've received seemed to reference the Admin role shouldn't matter and I should only be receiving notifications for tickets I created, am watching or a target comment.
