I get 'remote: Invalid credentials' whenever I try to push to my new bitbucket repository

I have opened a DOS window from my local git repo. I am trying to do a push to the remote repo. A pop up ATLASSIAN comes up with user name cjmarek, and a blank box for me to input a password. I press 'Continue', and then on the dos window I see it telling me 'remote: Invalid credentials.

Password for 'https://cjmarek@bitbucket.org
remote: Invalid credentials

I have tried resetting my password. I am able to sign in to the bitbucket website with my reset credentials. But the DOS window to my local repo will not let me push to the remote:

git push -u origin master  or 
git push origin master

My credentials are not accepted as valid.

You are using incorrect credentials, as we no longer accept account passwords for Git. You'll need to generate an App Password as your password credentials. Please check our guide below on how to generate one:
