Jira / Confluence permissions problems

Hi,

I have an on demand Jira account with 10 users, I recently added on demand Confluence. I would like all Jira users to be able to login into Confluence but unless they are in the administrators group they just get a 'you do not have permission' error.

Any help would be great.

They probably all belong to the "jira users" group, but not "confluence users".

I usually cheat, go into confluence admin -> global permissions, and add "jira users" into "can log in" permission. That way, anyone who has a Jira account can at least get inot Confluence without me having to add them to another group.

Thanks, but I already have that set-up. Is it odd that I don't see the jira users under the People menu in Confluence?

Yup, for OnDemand, you should be able to raise an issue at https://support.atlassian.comand get quite a quick response.

I would include your settings though - nip into the user maintenance, pick someone who is definitely in the right groups but can't log in and use them as a demo. Then check that the global-permissions in both Jira and Confluence let them in.

I guess what I'm saying is before you raise a call, you should be able to show Atlassian that "Fred is in the group jira-users, Jira says that jira-users can log into Jira and yet Fred just gets permission denied as soon as they triy to log in". Give them a concrete example, it gets them stuck straight into debugging instead of asking questions.
