@Brant Schroeder: Only regular updates. But to be honest I did not check the "profile page" for a very long time.

@Daniel Koch Can you post what is in the logs when you click on the profile page? Also what OS are you hosing on?

Doubled checked all the atlassian and webserver logs. Found the issue: It was caused by the WAF that was blocking a request on the profile page. Thanks for your time!
