Could not load bootstrap from environment - Double checked permissions

Hey all, I upgraded my version of confluence from 7.13.1 to 7.17.1 and all of my configurations seem, to be in order except Confluence wont run properly:

I followed this thread and I am having the similar problem where I installed the upgrade with root, but instead of reinstalling I followed Mirko Schäfer's Comment and changed the permissions of the files and recursively set the directories owners to the user that runs confluence. Here is how the file permissions look now (Note: confluence1 is the user that manages confluence):

-rwxrwxr-x. 1 confluence1 confluence1 5813 Mar 8 13:48 confluence.cfg.xml

Am I missing something? will I need to reinstall as the confluence1 user? Thanks for any help

This issue turned out to be and issue of space, after the install file ran, it created a backup file of about 25gb and placed it in the home directory (/var/atlassian) and the file filled the entire drive space I had allotted for the home directory.

The confluence.cfg.xml file couldn't be SAVED because their was no room on the drive. Hope this helps someone else.
