How can we view remaining hours on Planning Mode of the Greenhopper Dashboard ?

Currently we can view original estimate in the Planning mode of greenhopper. But is it possible to view even the remaining estimate in Planning mode?

There could be a scenario wherein we have a task of 100 hours and we would have completed 90 hours and 10 hours are remaining. Now when we take this task into a new sprint and when we want to know how much of the work is still pending on the task then we are presented a view in Plan mode where we get to see only the original estimate against each issue. So even if we would have completed 90 hours and only 10 are remaining, the user get a false overview that its estimated for 100 hours before starting the sprint. We can get to see the remaining hours only when we start the sprint.

So is there a way by which we can configure these estimates?

Thanks Renjith for the reply. But we do have such requests from our team wherein they would want to see even the Remaining Hours in the PLanning mode i.e. like a square box which displays the original estimate in Plan mode, they would want to see similar sort of square box for remaining estimates. Just out of curiosity is it possible to configure this in Greenhopper board.

Jayashree. To start with basics:

* If you estimate 100 hours and if you have spend 90 hours, it does not mean that there is only 10 hours remaining. It completely depends on how much remaining estimate is set during work logging.
* Stories are best estimated using Story points and that is the basis for release planning
* Estmations for the sprint is purely based on time estimates for sub-tasks which get planned and recalculated every time a sprint starts. In that case do you still see a lack of clarity?
