I'm trying to put together a filter that captures the following data and I'm having a little trouble getting my head around it. Figured it was worth asking here. I'm trying to filter with the following criteria: * Epic Status: Backlog, Groomed, Done * Children Status: In Progress, Done * * If Child has a Done Status, the Resolution must be "Done, Fixed, or Completed". A Done Status of "Won't Fix" or "Won't Do" is acceptable. * Project Avengers * Created within the last quarter. So far the closest I've been able to come up with is the following with Scriptrunner type = Epic and status in (Backlog,Groomed,Done) AND (created >= startOfYear() AND created <=endOfYear(3M)) AND issueFunction in issuesInEpics("project = TEST AND status in ('In Progress',Done)") Which resolves but doesn't seem to pull up the results I'm expecting. I am running Jira Software DataCenter 9.5.0 Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks!

Get list of epics with child issues in specific status

I'm trying to put together a filter that captures the following data and I'm having a little trouble getting my head around it. Figured it was worth asking here. I'm trying to filter with the following criteria:

Epic Status: Backlog, Groomed, Done
Children Status:  In Progress, Done

- If Child has a Done Status, the Resolution must be "Done, Fixed, or Completed".  A Done Status of "Won't Fix" or "Won't Do" is acceptable.

Project Avengers
Created within the last quarter.

So far the closest I've been able to come up with is the following with Scriptrunner

type = Epic and status in (Backlog,Groomed,Done) AND (created >= startOfYear() AND created <=endOfYear(3M)) AND issueFunction in issuesInEpics("project = TEST AND status in ('In Progress',Done)")

Which resolves but doesn't seem to pull up the results I'm expecting.

I am running Jira Software DataCenter 9.5.0

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

To confirm your logic, you are looking for is a list of Epics which are in...

Project = Avengers
Created = last quarter
Status: Backlog, Groomed, Done
Children = Status: In Progress, Done (for Done, resolution = Done, Fixed, Completed)

I've made a few assumptions - please correct these if incorrect:

You only want the list of Epics, not the children
The Epics also need to be in Project "Avengers" - this isn't just a reference for child issues
Last quarter refers to October - December

If this is correct, this should work:

project = TEST AND issuetype = Epic AND created >= 2022-10-01 AND created <= 2022-12-31 AND status in (Backlog, Groomed, Done) AND issueFunction in epicsOf("project = TEST and status in ("In Progress", Done) and (resolution in (Done, Fixed, Completed) OR resolution is EMPTY)")

A few notes on this query...

I changed the issueFunction to epicsOf - which provides Epics as the result, based on values set at a child level
I modified the created references to be absolute dates, rather than using a dynamic function
