Can Git user be changed when pushing back to the repository from Pipelines?

See the below image that shows that the `bitbucket-pipelines` user is the committer whenever the pipeline is bumping the version automatically after a successful build.

Can the Author be changed in any way?

I tried to set:

git config user.name
git config user.email

...before pushing, but it did not help.

Hi @zoltan_zvara ,

This is possible using the commands you mentioned

- git config user.name 'John Smith'
- git config user.email myemail@domain.com

Please note that the commands need to be executed before the git commit command. The email gets added to a commit's metadata when you do a git commit and not when you push.

Are you using the git config commands after you do a git commit in your build? If so, could you try moving them before the git commit, and let me know if it works?
