Validations in Stories subtasks and epics

Hii

Just wanted to know that my project is having one problem of validation

If I have to change the status of story from dev to do to dev in progress, it just asks the original estimate

But, if I want to change the same for subtasks and epics, it is asking start date, due date and the original estimate

How should I resolve this?

Can you confirm for us whether you are working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? It will say which it is at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

Can you show us how you are being asked for the information during these transitions? Please provide screen images.

If you are truly working in a Team Managed project, as you have tagged this post, then you would not have Validators in the Workflows as mentioned by @Walter Buggenhout . Instead you would have Workflow Rules that may be requiring entries in those fields.

Workflows in both Team Managed and Company Managed projects can be unique for each Issue Type in your project, so it is possible to have different requirements in the transition for different types of issues.

Hi @Jatin Bansal,

Based on what you describe, it seems that your issue types are using a different workflow. It also seems that these different workflows have different validators in place.

I would recommend you to check your Project Settings > Workflows and see what workflow each issue type is using. Then, open each workflow's details, select the transitions from to do to in progress and verify the settings on the validators tab. Then align both workflows to level out the differences.
