How to download the Backlog into Excel?

Greetings: I have a large volume of items in my backlog. I would like to download my backlog items (all columns and fields) into Excel. Is this something that I can do in Jira? If so, can you provide the process steps to download backlog items into Excel?

To make sure you export the backlog of your board, go to the board admin and copy the JQL your filter is based on. Then do an advance search like

(Board query you copied) and sprint is empty

Then you will be able to export in CSV. I think Excel export has been removed in 7.x

Not sure if the application property is still available as described by Thorsten Letschert _Decadis AG_ in

Welcome to the community!

You can run a query to search for items that are not in a sprint. Example:

project = X and Sprint is empty

This will give you the issues in your backlog (You may need to also specify a board). Then you can export to excel.
