I have VPS Server, But i Dont have the Root Access for the same. Can i Install Jira Data Center on System User. Right Now I can't use SUDO command because i dont have root user access.
Hi @Shubham Vishwmabhar
When you install Jira, a dedicated user "jira" is created and the system uses that user for all activities like start, stop, write etc.
If you don't have sudo access, then you cannot start/stop the process. Ask your Linux admin to grant you sudo access to jira user OR you need sudo access to root and then you can sudo to jira user.
Please note:When the JIRA Binary Installer creates a new JIRA instance, if the jira user already exists, a new user is created. This may be undesirable causing the wrong user to run JIRA. The JIRA Binary installer automatically creates users in a sequential format, for example, jira1, jira2, jira3
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/change-the-user-that-executes-jira-in-linux-717063283.html

jira2
jira3
