Putting the Task under Epic in List View

I cannot figure out how to put the Task under the Epic. I created rules in the Automation section and the Tasks are listed within the Epic which is what I want.

But when looking at the List view, each of my tasks are separate and not nested under my Epic. I feel like I have tried everything to try to put them under the Epic

> Goal: I can collapse and expand the Epic to see the Tasks in the List view

Hi Sara - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

There are still some issues with this working properly in my opinion.

What I had to do was click on the > beside the Epic to "expand it", though nothing might happen. Then if you will drag the child up or down in the list, it should adjust and then show up under the expansion. Though it might show twice now in the list - it does in mine.

I agree with John that a few things don't seem to work as they should, and I'd expect these to be fixed at some point.

Just to put this out there: If you're looking for an immediate solution and are open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this works like a charm in the app that my team is working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing and inline-editing all your issue fields, among many other things. It also allows viewing your issues in their hierarchy, with the expected expand/collapse functionality:
