Defect type is missing in Type fields of Jira

Question

Hello,

In the detail view of View screen, For Type field only Epic, Story and Task option are available.

Defect is missing there.

Please provide solution why Defect is missing in that fields.

While in the create button we can create Defect issue from there but same is not available in view screen Type field.

Hi Palolavi,

It is probably because the Defect issue type uses a different workflow than the others. Therefore, can can't simply change the issue type directly in the issue.

You will need to do a Move function to change it to Defect. Click on the 3 dots Action menu and select Menu. Then follow the prompts.
