Is it possible force a comment when ever status has been changed using automation for jira

Question

I want that when someone changes a Ticket/Test status he/she has to write a comment why the change was performed so that the workflow is more efficent and better documented. Can this be achieved by using automation for jira? If not what is the better way to do this.

I searched in automation for jira but there is no option for force comment in this.

Hi,

You may need to add a comment screen to your required transition.

Above can't be made mandatory but the screen for comment can be introduced.

the best way to do that is to setup a transition screen for each transition within your workflows. If a transition has a transition screen, automatically comment field will appear.

In order to make it mandatory please add a validator for each transition.
